Disability Insurance
- Do you know we represent several disability companies? Some insure pure own-occ. Some insure modified own-occ. All have excellent residual benefits.
- Lately, we have issued high limit disability with Lloyds insuring 401(k) contributions to age 65 in the event the employee becomes disabled from their occupation, with the funds offered back to the client, when he or she is deemed totally disabled and cannot perform the substantial and material duties of their occupation (pretty timely.) Great idea to talk to your clients about, especially in the doctor marketplace. In one of the cases, the employer paid for the benefit and bonused the premium to the employee.
Life Insurance - Pay attention to conversion privileges
- Four radiologists needed $2 million of term insurance. They wanted the best price and the longest period to convert, which was age 75. One was age 50, two aged 55 and one age 56. We were able to accommodate them with term insurance with a domestic company.
- A dentist wanted the best underwriting and conversion privilege and the best price. We could accommodate with the age 75 conversion and super preferred rates, where other companies, price-wise, could not because of their underwriting criteria.
1035 exchanges
- Either to annuities or life insurance with LTC coverage or life insurance short-pay with guaranteed life insurance benefit (again, pretty timely.)
Split annuities
- Annuities that have cost of living options – annuities with a reserve account and cost of living options.
